The object of The Plain Truth is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the word of God to the people of the UK (and abroad) by means of the written word in publishing (a free Christian magazine), by radio, TV and personal evangelism.

Currently The Plain Truth produces a free, non-denominational magazine, aimed at readers of all faiths – or none – to inform and educate them on issues affecting our everyday lives, and from a Christian perspective. With a dual purpose of both mission and ministry, The Plain Truth aims to nurture and encourage those embarking on their Christian journey as well as supporting and developing the faith of those already committed Christians.

Established in 2003 as an independent charity (No 1098217), The Plain Truth aims to provide its subscribers with ‘food for thought’ through its articles, interviews and reports. Material published in our magazine is regularly used by churches and in house groups to open up discussions, and as a basis of Bible studies and topics for school assemblies. Copies are also sent – by request – to libraries, nursing homes, hospitals, retreat centres and prisons.

Our contributing authors come from a range of different Christian backgrounds, including Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Independent and Evangelical. As members of the Evangelical Alliance the overall editorial policy of the charity follows that of the organisation. However, any statements or opinions expressed in specific articles represent the opinions of the author.

Published three (or four) times a year as resources allow, The Plain Truth addresses topics such as family relationships, care of our environment, depression, loneliness, education and science and world events from a Christian perspective. Regular features also explore the books of the Bible, its history and characters, as well as examining aspects of the Christian faith.

The magazine also carries interviews with leading Christian individuals such as Joni Eareckson-Tada and George Verwer, profiles the work of Christian organisations and charities like CSW, MAF and CAP as well as carrying inspiring testimonies.

Currently with a circulation of around 6,000 and a readership of approximately 20,000, subscribers to The Plain Truth receive the magazine in 80 countries across the globe.

With no funding from any single Christian church or organisation, the work of The Plain Truth and all its associated costs are solely supported by the generous donations of many of its loyal readers. (Although the magazine does take some limited paid advertising to offset costs.)

We hope to be able to continue publishing The Plain Truth as long as resources allow – and we are always very grateful for donations from our readers who share our vision and make The Plain Truth freely available to all who want to receive our Christian magazine.
